Holden Commodore Protection

Holden Commodore Car Protection Packages

The last Australian built Commodore rolled out of Elizabeth in October 2017 with a sign on the windscreen reading Last Car, and the market has been repricing them ever since. The VF SS, SSV Redline and HSV cars worth the most are the ones still wearing paint Holden applied. Film and coating exist to keep yours in that group. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 to talk about your Commodore.

Keep It A Survivor

Redbook does not price sentiment, but auction results price originality every week. A Commodore with unmarked factory paint sits in a different bracket to a tidy respray, and film is how driven cars stay in the first bracket.

Full Body Clear PPF

Complete cover for the keeper: every painted panel under self-healing paint protection film with a ten year warranty against yellowing and cracking. The LS3 still gets exercised, the paint stays as Elizabeth sprayed it. About a week.

Daily Driver Front PPF

For the SV6 and SS still on daily duty. The nose cops the same freeway rash it always did, except now every repaint takes a little more of the car’s history with it. Film keeps both intact.

Correct Then Coat

Phantom black and Red Hot are unforgiving colours: swirls in one, fade risk in the other. We correct the paint, then lock in a ceramic coating that hardens the surface and keeps the deep wet look between washes.

Show Day Preparation

Concours prep before All Holden Day or a club show: correction, interior detail and the engine bay brought up to judging standard. The difference between clean and prepared is obvious under fluorescent lights. You will find the same detail for Tesla and EV protection.

Wheel Ceramic

Redline forged wheels and HSV rims collect brake dust that bakes on hard. Ceramic on the faces and barrels means the dust rinses off instead of bonding, and polished lips stay polished. You will find the same detail for the Tesla Model S and supercar protection.

Cabin Preservation Tint

Commodore interior trim is out of production like the rest of the car. Tint cuts the UV and heat that crack dash tops and fade cloth, protecting parts that get scarcer every summer. Separate guides cover the Porsche 911 and Ferrari.

Edges And Contact Points

Door edges, boot lip and sill zones: the small hits that quietly downgrade a car from excellent to good. Film on the contact points costs less than a single edge respray and never shows in photographs. There are dedicated guides for the BMW M cars and Mercedes.

HSV And The Rest

GTS, Clubsport, Maloo or a plain Executive with survivor kilometres, the approach is the same. Our make and model pages cover the wider garage if the Commodore has company. Bring the car in for a look, the workshop is a five minute walk from Mitcham station. The same work is set out for Audi and Toyota.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

Is it worth protecting a non V8 Commodore?

Yes. The V8s lead the market but clean SV6s and even base cars are following the same curve, because supply only shrinks. Condition will decide which examples matter in ten years.

Can you work on HSV specific panels and bodykits?

Yes. HSV bumpers, skirts and spoilers are handled with custom trimmed film rather than generic patterns, since fitment differs from the standard Commodore shells they started as.

Will ceramic coating hide existing swirl marks?

No, it locks them in. Swirled paint gets machine corrected first, then coated, which is more work and the only honest way to do it. The gloss afterwards is the reward.

My Commodore has one resprayed panel. Problem?

Not necessarily. We check the respray’s cure and quality first, because film bonds differently to fresh or poor paint. Sound repairs film fine; suspect ones get flagged before any film goes on.
