Mechanic Services Mitcham
Car Service and Repair in Mitcham
The general rule is a service every six months or 10,000 kilometres. Ours is simple: logbook servicing to manufacturer specifications or fixed price servicing for the basics, at the same Mitcham workshop that looks after your paint.
Servicing alongside detailing sounds unusual until you use it once: the car goes in for its service and comes back maintained and clean. One booking, one location, no second trip across town.
Between services, the workshop covers general maintenance and repairs as they come up: batteries, belts, hoses, leaks and the warning light that appeared on Tuesday. Small jobs are usually same day; bigger ones are quoted first. On the protection side, our guides run from the family Toyota to supercars.

Logbook Servicing
To manufacturer specification, stamped and documented, so your new car warranty is never an argument. We follow the service schedule for your exact model and kilometres, use fluids and filters that meet specification, and hand back a written record with anything worth watching before the next interval. Fixed price options cover the essentials for older cars that have outgrown the logbook.
Brakes, Suspension & Exhaust
Brake service and replacement with pad and rotor measurements taken at every service, so the decision to act is based on millimetres rather than guesswork. Suspension and shocks are inspected and replaced as needed, with performance KW setups available for owners chasing more, and exhaust work runs through AK Exhaust. Worn steering and suspension parts announce themselves early if someone is listening; a bush caught at inspection costs a fraction of a control arm at failure.
Rego & Inspections
Roadworthy and registration inspections to the VicRoads standard, plus tyres, wheels and alignment under the same roof. What you get with every inspection is the honest word: what actually needs doing now, what can safely wait until the next service, and what is not worth spending on this car at this age.
One Workshop for the Whole Car
Most owners run a mechanic for the oily side and a detailer for the shiny side, with two booking systems and two trips across town. Housing both under one roof at Mitcham removes the overhead: the service happens while the car is already in for detailing, or the detail happens during the service, and you collect one finished car. It also means the people working on your car mechanically understand what is on it cosmetically; nobody leans a tool on a wrapped guard or leaves handprints on coated paint, because the same business applied that coating. That care matters on a filmed Porsche 911 and a coated Mercedes alike.
Maintenance That Matches the Car
A near new car under warranty needs logbook servicing to specification, documented properly so the warranty stays intact. An older daily needs judgment: what genuinely needs replacement, what can wait, and what is not worth doing on this car at this age. We give the honest version of that answer, the same way our protection quotes tell you when the cheaper package is the right one. Model guides from Tesla to BYD cover the protection side in detail.
Booking and Turnaround
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:50pm and Saturday to 1:30pm at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham, minutes from the Eastlink Canterbury Road exit. Standard services are same day: drop off in the morning, collect in the afternoon. Repairs are quoted with parts and timing before any work starts, and we call before touching anything beyond the quote. Book on 1800 985 880 or through the form below.
What a Logbook Service Includes
Every logbook service follows the manufacturer schedule for your exact model and kilometres: oils and filters to specification, fluid checks and top ups, brake inspection, battery and charging test, tyre condition and pressures, and the stamped record that keeps your warranty and resale story intact. You get a written summary of anything worth watching before the next interval. Keep the stamped report with the books; a complete service history is worth real money at trade in time. The 12 volt battery check matters on EVs too.
Fixed Price or Logbook: Which One
Under factory warranty, logbook servicing to specification is the answer, documented so the dealer can never argue. Out of warranty, fixed price servicing covers the essentials (oil, filter, inspection, rotation) for a known cost, and we will tell you which one serves your car better. An older Mazda daily is the classic fixed price case. The wrong answer is the $99 special that skips the inspection entirely. Either way the inspection happens, because the inspection is where problems get caught while they are still cheap.
Brakes: When to Act
Brakes rarely fail suddenly; they fade in stages. A soft pedal, a shudder under braking or a squeal on light application are all early chapters, and acting at the pads stage costs a fraction of waiting for the rotors. Every service includes a brake inspection with measurements, so the call to act is based on millimetres, not feelings. Hard driven cars like the BMW M2, M3 and M4 go through pads faster. Brake fluid is tested too; it absorbs moisture with age, and a two minute test tells us when it is due.
Tyres, Wheels & Alignment
Tyres are the only part of the car touching the road. We supply and fit tyres, balance wheels and correct alignment, which protects the new rubber and fixes the steering pull that most drivers have simply learned to live with. Uneven wear on an inspection is usually an alignment story, caught early it costs a lunch, not a set of tyres. Off roaders like the Ford Raptor knock alignment out fastest. Pressures and rotation are checked in every service as standard.
Performance Upgrades Done Right
For owners who want more than maintenance, we fit KW suspension and handle exhaust work through AK Exhaust. Performance work follows the same discipline as our protection packages: advice on what a street driven car actually benefits from, and a test drive before handover. Everything fitted is selected to stay road legal, and you get in writing exactly what was changed.
Roadworthy & Registration Inspections
Buying, selling or re-registering, the roadworthy inspection is the gate. We inspect to the VicRoads standard and give you the straight list: what passes, what fails, and what it costs to close the gap, with repairs quoted on the spot so one visit can take the car from listed to legal. If a failed item needs parts, we quote and schedule the fix before you leave. Selling a used Ford or anything else? Book the inspection before you list it.

Very good service and quality. This was my first time doing ceramic coating for my new ride and the explanation during handover was great by Mark. Jacky was good too when I first deal with him and he showed me around explaining how the job will be done. Happy customer. Definitely comeback when I need their service.

Jacky and the team at Liquid R did a fantastic job with a full PPF wrap and window tinting on my 300 Series LandCruiser. Great pre and post sales service too. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
Andrew Wood

Brought in my Tesla on a Friday and got in back the very next Friday for a full body PPF + graphene coating on top. To start with, this timeframe is impressive given the job they have done. On top, from start to finish, I received excellent communication and professionalism along the way, and of course, a flawless job done on the vehicle. It's hard to write any negatives, my car came out looking twice as good as…

Jacky and his team did an amazing job taking all the tree sap off my white Mazda cx5. I had left it on for months so it was really stuck onto my paint nothing i tried worked and other detailers couldn't get it off properly. My car now looks brand new. Was a bit pricey for me but it is worth it since my car looks like it's straight out of a dealership now.

Jacky and team were amazing. From the moment we first walked in the door to make our initial inquiries to the day we dropped off to the day we picked up nothing was too much trouble. Jacky was extremely passionate and knowledgeable and so easy to deal with. The team were very particular in their work. Then there is the final product. An absolutely amazing result.

Jackie was super helpful from the very start. He was able to work his availability around my shift work roster. Perfect communication about products and price and fully transparent, no secret costs or upselling. Jackie obviously takes pride in his workmanship and it shows. Would recommend his services to anyone. For reference I had package 3 applied to a new vehicle and it looks better than the day I took delivery…

Edit on 19/07/2024: I bought a new car (picture added) and got an updated version of what I got with my i30N (now called Paint Protection Pack 4) with an upgrade on the tint. Same experience as before, so would again wholeheartedly recommend. Also my car feels so silky, its surreal. ### The short version: Bobby and Jacky are running an incredibly knowledgeable and professional business.

No. Logbook servicing to manufacturer specifications by a qualified workshop keeps your warranty intact, and we stamp and document everything accordingly.
The standard guide is every six months or 10,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. Your logbook may specify differently, and we follow the manufacturer’s schedule.
Yes, that is the point of one workshop. Service plus detail, or service scheduled into a protection package booking, means one trip and one pickup.
Yes, roadworthy and registration inspections, along with tyres, brakes, suspension and exhaust work at the Mitcham workshop.
Same day. Drop the car in the morning and collect it in the afternoon. Repairs get a quoted timeframe before work starts, and if the car is also booked for detailing or protection work, everything is combined into the one visit.
No. Australian consumer law lets any qualified workshop service a car under warranty, provided the work follows manufacturer specifications and is documented, which is exactly how our logbook servicing runs.
