Dual Layer Chemistry
Ultra lays down two layers in one application: a hard 9h base that takes the abrasion and a slightly softer top layer that resists extreme swings in temperature without cracking. Accredited Hands Only
Gtechniq restricts Ultra to accredited detailers because mistakes are expensive: once cured, a bad application can only come off with machine polishing. Accreditation also means the nine year guarantee is real, registered and claimable, not a line on an invoice. There are dedicated guides for the Porsche 911 and Ferrari.
Nine Year Guarantee
Ultra is guaranteed against deterioration for nine years, kept valid by an annual inspection at our Mitcham workshop. Most owners book the inspection with a maintenance wash, so the car gets checked over properly once a year anyway. You will find the same detail for the BMW M cars and Mercedes.
What It Costs
Our ceramic pricing starts at $980 including single stage correction. Ultra sits at the top of the range and we quote it per car, since paint condition and size drive the hours. Full options are on the ceramic coating page.
Ultra Over Film
Cars wearing paint protection film can be coated over the film, so filmed and painted panels bead and wash identically. Film stops the stones, the serum keeps everything slick and chemical resistant.
Ultra Or Serum Light
Honest answer: Crystal Serum Light does most of the job for most cars, with a five year guarantee. Ultra is thicker, glossier, more resistant to bird droppings and bat residue and guaranteed nearly twice as long. Keeping the car past five years is the deciding question.
Living With The Coating
Two bucket wash, pH neutral shampoo, no brush car washes and dry with a towel rather than the wind. Water spots wipe off a coated car easily if you get to them. The routine is short and it is all written up on our aftercare page.
Booking Ultra
We coat inside the Cook Road workshop under controlled conditions and keep the car indoors while the serum cures. Book a few days ahead, drop off in the morning and the station is a five minute walk if you are heading to work. The product detail sits on prestige detailing.

It is a pencil hardness rating for the cured base layer, harder than factory clear coat. It means wash swirls struggle to mark it. It does not mean stone chips bounce off, that job belongs to film.
The serum itself costs more, the application is less forgiving and the guarantee runs nine years. You are also paying for correction and preparation hours, which are what make any coating look good.
Give it a week before the first wash while the serum fully hardens. After that, normal pH neutral washing is fine. We hand over the full care routine at pickup.
Usually not, and we will say so. Crystal Serum Light protects well for the years you will own it at a lower cost. Ultra pays off on cars being kept the better part of a decade.
