About Liquid R

Melbourne's paint protection specialists since 2015.

Liquid R started in 2015 with two partners: one a car-obsessed enthusiast, the other a professional from inside the automotive trade. The plan was never volume. It was to build the workshop they would trust with their own cars.

A decade on, that workshop is Melbourne’s largest protection and detailing centre: 1,000 square metres in Mitcham, ten bays, and a booking sheet that covers every make and model on the road: Japanese Toyotas and Mazdas, European BMWs and Mercedes, American Fords and RAMs, Chinese BYDs and GWMs, right up to Ferraris and Lamborghinis valued past a million dollars, and that is only a sample of the list.

The habits have not changed. Quotes say exactly what is included, the advice sometimes talks you into the cheaper option, and every handover ends with a walkthrough of how to keep the work looking new.

Specialised Service

Coating, film, tint, wrap, detailing and mechanical servicing under one roof, each done by people who do that job all day rather than a generalist doing all six. The breadth exists so the advice can be neutral: we sell every solution, so we can recommend the right one. That includes the EV side, where soft Tesla paint changes the advice.

Honest Quotes

Every quote is fixed and itemised before the car is booked in: what is included, what is optional, what we think you can skip. If the cheaper package suits your car better, that is the one we will recommend. Ten years in, that habit is most of our referrals.

Trained & Experienced

Our applicators train directly with Gtechniq, 3M and STEK, and they keep those skills current. Every kind of car moves through the bays weekly, Porsche 911s, Mercedes, Ferraris, Teslas, BMW M cars, Toyotas, 4WDs and everything between, which keeps standards honest: the same hands and the same process work on a SUVs as on a supercar.

The Workshop

Over 1,000 square metres at Mitcham, ten bays, inspection lighting and controlled indoor application. Coatings cure without dust, films go on without weather calls, and big jobs do not queue behind small ones. The building is as much a tool as anything in it.

What Happens When You Book

First a conversation about how the car is used, then an inspection under proper lights, then a fixed quote. The advice differs between a daily commuter, a weekend performance car, a work ute, a family SUV and a garaged supercar, and the quote reflects it, whatever badge is on the nose. The work is photographed where it matters, and collection ends with a care walkthrough: wash method, first-wash timing and what to avoid, so the result lasts as long as it should.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

The questions people ask about who we are and how we work.

Who runs Liquid R?

The two founding partners still run it: one from the enthusiast side, one from the professional trade side. Both are in the building, which is why the standards on the floor match the promises on the website.

Do you work on ordinary cars or just prestige?

Mostly ordinary cars, honestly. Commuters, family SUVs and SUVs fill the week; the prestige work is the proof of process, not the target market. Thin factory paint is a problem every car shares.

What warranties do you offer?

Product warranties from the manufacturers we install, Gtechniq on coatings and 3M on films and tint, plus our own written workmanship guarantee on the installation itself. One workshop, one address, one document trail.

Can I see the workshop before booking?

Yes, walk in during opening hours. You can see the bays, the lighting, cars in progress and finished work, and get a straight answer about what your car does and does not need.
